Industry veteran will lead Business Development, M&A activities

Nouri, formerly Director of Account Management for the company, fills the position vacated by John Steckel, who was named President and CEO of AMERICAN SYSTEMS in September 2023.

Peter Smith replaces Bill Hoover as Chairman of the Board of AMERICAN SYSTEMS

September 6, 2023 – Chantilly, Va. – AMERICAN SYSTEMS, a leading provider of cutting-edge engineering and IT solutions, today announced that former President and CEO Peter Smith has been elected Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors. Smith, who resigned from his position as the company’s President and CEO earlier this month, now fills the Chairman position vacated by Bill Hoover. Hoover had served as Chairman of the Board since 2015.

John Steckel selected as new CEO of AMERICAN SYSTEMS effective September 6

August 7, 2023 – Chantilly, Va. – AMERICAN SYSTEMS, a leading provider of cutting-edge engineering and IT solutions, today announced the selection of John Steckel as President and CEO effective September 6, 2023. Steckel, the current VP, Corporate Development for AMERICAN SYSTEMS, replaces Peter Smith, who is retiring on September 5 after serving as President and CEO since August 2014. Smith will continue to have a role on the company’s board of directors.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS Selected to Sustain Joint Emergency Mass Notification System for Key Capitol Personnel

Under a contract awarded by the United States Senate, Office of the Sergeant at Arms, AMERICAN SYSTEMS is providing sustainment configuration and integration services in support of the Joint Emergency Mass Notification System (JEMNS) for the Legislative Branch Organizations (LBO) located in and around the U.S. Capitol complex for up to six years.
